Lagerwey to build hydrogen-producing wind turbine
This is a development that will be interesting to watch. Lagerwey, a Dutch wind turbine manufacturer, in a consortium with ECN and HYGRO, is developing the world’s first wind turbine to convert wind power directly into hydrogen for use as transport fuel.
The Lagerwey 4.8MW turbine will be converted to incorporate electrolysis technology that will allow many components to be omitted. This will make the hydrogen production cheaper, more efficient and more robust.
