Renewable energy and employment
A recent European Commission study of Europe’s coal regions demonstrated great employment potential by replacing coal with solar. Australia has similar potential and we are already seeing that jobs growth. The transition continues, with a 10 GW renewable energy pipeline in South Australia a case in point. It’s great news for Australia and the energy sector, as well as for employment. We need to think ahead now about tacking the growing talent shortages.
