$15M in research funding towards PV recycling

ARENA has announced a $15M funding round to investigate how end-of-life PV can be recycled into new panels.

This research funding will aim to reduce the cost to the supply chain while increasing the sustainability of materials.

A consideration for recycling is also those panels which are damaged at the transport and installation stages of utility scale solar installations. Although significantly less than 0.5%, this can amount to hundreds of panels in a large scale installation.
