Solar tiles – walking on sunshine

Chinese scientists have developed a PV floor tile that is strong, heat-resistant and anti-slip enough to be considered for footpaths and cycle lanes.

Each solar cell is 15% efficient, connected in series with eight other cells for an estimated output of 30-40W.
