Energy Observer docks at ground zero
After three years sailing around Europe on renewable energy and hydrogen, the vessel Energy Observer has arrived at the Arctic island of Spitsbergen, which is located in an area referred to as “ground zero” for climate change.
The expedition has had two important objectives: to prove that a vessel powered 100% by clean energy can make this journey, as well as raise awareness for the millions of square kilometres of ice that have melted over the past two decades as a result of climate change.
