  • Proactively managing internal and external communications with the Exec team members.

Energy Trading Analyst

An Energy Trading Analyst is required for a disruptive energy business that is challenging the incumbent marketplace. They will perform in-depth energy market analysis, following electricity and environmental markets, pricing customer loads, executing trades, trade reconciliations, position and risk reporting.

Reporting to the Wholesale Markets and Pricing Lead, the Energy Trading Analyst will:

  • Undertake analysis of wholesale energy markets and develop reports to inform internal stakeholders and support internal business decisions
  • Support wholesale trading activities across electricity and environmental markets
  • Support the creation of Position and Risk Reporting on existing and new hedge contracts OTC and Futures
  • Review and reconciliation of existing and new hedge position against counterparty/customer billing
  • Stay up to date on latest electricity and environmental derivatives and risk management products
  • Support development of tools and calculation of transfer pricing for various retail products
  • Undertake analysis of various retail products and hedging strategies, prepare presentations & provide reports for customers demonstrating benefits, risks etc

They are looking for someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification in relevant field (finance, engineering, economics or mathematics)
  • Strong understanding of the wholesale energy markets
  • Understanding of derivatives within the energy market (swaps, caps & Asians)
  • Relevant energy industry experience that includes financial analysis, reporting and/or trading
  • Ability to analyses and communicate market information
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced Excel

PMO Manager

A PMO Manager is required for an energy control systems business. The remit will cover both their renewable energy and industrial solutions business units. The business has been successfully growing, and more recently, the renewables division has accelerated that growth.

The PMO Manager will be responsible for creating, implementing and managing a PMO function to enable professional execution of projects for the two business units.

They are based in South West Sydney but some homeworking can be accommodated.

The PMO Manager will:

  • Establish a project governance framework
  • Establish a centralized document library and reporting framework
  • Set up operational project objectives and KPIs
  • Track project performance KPIs
  • Ensure efficient resource planning and scheduling with use of a single resource plan to create visibility of resource capacity, competency, and availability for all stakeholders.
  • Establish a consistent project management methodology and streamline and automate, where possible, processes and workflows.
  • Facilitate project learning and knowledge transfer between functions and teams.
  • Provide a mentoring support and coaching to the Project Managers.

 

Requirements include:

  • A Project Management qualification such as PMP
  • An Engineering or Project Management degree is preferred.
  • Project Management and/or PMO experience from within an engineering or technical (hardware) environment.
  • Experience of establishing a PMO function or working within a well organised PMO.
  • Experience of delivering change management as part of the improvement or introduction of a PMO or project management discipline within a company.
  • Well established experience of using project management tools such as for example MS Project.
  • Working knowledge of Exact ERP system is a preference.
  • Good presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences.

Mechatronics Engineer

The Mechatronics Engineer will lead development of automation and robotic technologies primarily to support operations and maintenance of solar assets, but also for other relevant assembly and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with O&M Manager to establish site O&M requirements and challenges.
  • Develop concepts, study feasibility, cost implications and performance benefits of new mechatronic concepts.
  • Researching and selecting sensor, communication and control technologies for relevant functionality of robotic equipment.
  • Source and manage suppliers to modify products from their existing range to support 5B needs.
  • Drive external projects to develop robotic solutions, particularly in vegetation management and solar panel cleaning.
  • Identifying and selecting materials appropriate for mechatronic system designs.
  • Creating mechanical models and performing tolerance analyses to simulate mechatronic design concepts.
  • Design and build of prototype new products by integrating various technologies
  • Maintaining and improving processes and designs of new equipment.

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Mechatronics or Robotics.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Mechatronics or robotic development experience for a relevant industry such as energy, utilities, asset management, rail or agriculture.
  • Product and/or vendor management experience to develop new or modified products.
  • A creative and conceptual thinker with a passion for innovation.
  • Mechanical CAD Drawing and 3D modelling to develop manufacturing drawings.
  • Scripting and firmware coding expertise with languages such as Python, MATLAB, C, C++

Qualifications

  • Business, Human Resources or Organisational Psychology or Development degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the build, design, implementation and embedding of organisational development and people strategies to drive changes to organisational behaviour.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of partnering and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successfully leading and delivering projects within time, budget and resource constraints and sustaining outcomes.
  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of strategy development and is able to work with multiple teams to align functional strategy with organisational vision, translating vision to action to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and execute with pace.
  • Experience working within early stage or high growth businesses as well experience within an engineering based organisation.

Solar Site Supervisor

A Site Supervisor is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business. They have developed a new approach to solar farm construction and the Site Supervisor will organise all site-based activities and trades.

The Site Supervisor will:

  • Be responsible for managing trades on-site and delivering projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Manage all logistics ensuring all equipment and materials are on-site on time.
  • Monitor and manage site safety.
  • Investigate and respond to any client issues immediately.
  • Generate positive client experiences through exceptional service.
  • Ensure all projects have been inspected and a quality assurance assessment is complete.

Requirements include:

  • A trade or military background with construction site experience.
  • Experience of managing site activities, including materials and equipment logistics.
  • Solar installation experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally and internationally, with up to 50% travel expected.
  • A collaborative team player with the discipline and self-motivation to enjoy working autonomously and enthusiasm to “work in the trenches” to achieve outcomes.

Solar Asset O&M Manager

An O&M Manager is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business.

The O&M Manager will be responsible for whole of site O&M, both tactical and strategic, principally through external suppliers to manage on the ground monitoring, operations and maintenance.

 

The O&M Manager will develop the approach to O&M and inform and lead on changes to that approach, assisting customers to develop strategies for their sites, as well as engaging with local indigenous groups.

 

A key future development area will be in vegetation management and cleaning by leading projects to develop IP in this area, particularly involving robotics.

 

As the business is an early stage company, other responsibilities may fall to the O&M Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a broad range, whole of site O&M strategy for customer and company sites.
  • Manage O&M contractors to deliver on-site O&M activities in line with the strategy and contractual commitments.
  • Manage internal projects to investigate and develop automated maintenance tools and techniques, particularly vegetation management.
  • Manage logistic processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage local indigenous group relations.
  • Provide reporting on production, energy availability/reliability and efficiency as well as on operational and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure O&M document management is robust.
  • Lead the sharing of improvement initiatives and best practices.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Environmental Management with Master’s level desirable.
  • Experience in power plant operation and maintenance (preferably solar technologies).
  • Proven success as a leader in an autonomous role.
  • Excellent understanding and ability to deeply analyse large amounts of data.
  • Strong knowledge of energy systems, O&M processes, contract management and economic principles.
  • A creative mindset and passion for innovation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally where required
  • A collaborative team player with the discipline and self-motivation to enjoy working autonomously and enthusiasm to “work in the trenches” to achieve outcomes.
