A Head of Business Technology is required for an Australian technology business that is developing cutting-edge solutions that streamline and drastically reduce the cost of deploying large scale solar energy.

They are building an ecosystem of partners for the deployment of their technology and require a platform that will enable the integration of demand through to supply from these partners, as well as provide their partners access to a range of tools to support project development.

The Head of Business Technology will scope and oversee the development and implementation of the necessary systems to create the platform. There is an Odoo based ERP in place and would be the starting point for future development although a technology agnostic approach is expected.

Responsibility will also include ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget, and once implemented, that the system is maintained, there is seamless connectivity between all company systems and it is continuously improved in line with changing requirements within a growing company and a constantly evolving industry.

Key requirements include:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related area
  • An MBA or Master’s in Project Management are highly regarded
  • Experience as a Solution Architect building ERP or marketplace systems
  • Broad based experience across business analysis, project management and systems or software engineering
  • Proficiency in a range of software languages
  • ERP, IT infrastructure and cloud development experience
  • Flexibility and autonomy to thrive in a growing, early stage business.

Solar Asset O&M Manager

Sydney, NSW

An O&M Manager is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business.

The O&M Manager will be responsible for whole of site O&M, both tactical and strategic, principally through external suppliers to manage on the ground monitoring, operations and maintenance.

 

The O&M Manager will develop the approach to O&M and inform and lead on changes to that approach, assisting customers to develop strategies for their sites, as well as engaging with local indigenous groups.

 

A key future development area will be in vegetation management and cleaning by leading projects to develop IP in this area, particularly involving robotics.

 

As the business is an early stage company, other responsibilities may fall to the O&M Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a broad range, whole of site O&M strategy for customer and company sites.
  • Manage O&M contractors to deliver on-site O&M activities in line with the strategy and contractual commitments.
  • Manage internal projects to investigate and develop automated maintenance tools and techniques, particularly vegetation management.
  • Manage logistic processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage local indigenous group relations.
  • Provide reporting on production, energy availability/reliability and efficiency as well as on operational and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure O&M document management is robust.
  • Lead the sharing of improvement initiatives and best practices.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Environmental Management with Master’s level desirable.
  • Experience in power plant operation and maintenance (preferably solar technologies).
  • Proven success as a leader in an autonomous role.
  • Excellent understanding and ability to deeply analyse large amounts of data.
  • Strong knowledge of energy systems, O&M processes, contract management and economic principles.
  • A creative mindset and passion for innovation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally where required

Senior Software Engineer/Project Manager

A Senior Software Engineer/Project Manager is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business.

The Senior Software Engineer/Project Manager will cover a broad role from business analyst, project manager to developer to create functionality and integrations for their partners via the company’s website and Odoo platform. These include computation design tools, solar yield analysis tools and the learning management system.

As the business is an early stage company, other responsibilities may fall to the Senior Software Engineer/Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Requirements gathering from internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to create platform features specifications to maximize and enhance User Experience.
  • Front end development of an outstanding platform using Python, CSS, HTML, JSON.
  • Develop APIs to integrate external tools and internal systems.
  • Source and manage external parties (technology providers, consultants, freelance developers) to create mission-based aspects of the platform.
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of the website.

Requirements include:

  • Software development experience with Python, CSS, HTML, JSON.
  • Experience of cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Ideally, experience of development of Odoo applications and knowledge of LMS such as Adobe Captivate Prime.
  • Experience of managing external vendors.
  • Ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are articulated, agreed and delivered.

Construction Operations Manager

The Construction Operations Manager will be responsible for building, managing and developing the Construction Operations team, and leading them to ensure on time, on budget delivery of special operations projects as well as achieving revenue contribution as per KPIs.

They will also:

  • Experience of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow management.
  • Knowledge and previous exposure to OH&S and Quality management systems and standards.

Regulatory Policy Manager

A Regulatory Policy Manager is required for a disruptive energy business that is challenging the status quo.

They will lead the company’s engagement in the policy debate armed with a comprehensive understanding of implications for the business, both today and as it grows into other markets.

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Regulatory Policy Manager will:

 

  • Lead the development and execution of policy strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives
  • Proactively manage key barriers, inefficiencies and sensitivities that impact strategic objectives through various regulatory and policy channels
  • Proactively seek policy reforms and new market structures
  • Monitor existing and emerging policy debates and identify the range of potential implications for long-term business objectives
  • Prepare concise, persuasive and timely submissions and correspondence related public consultations
  • Manage and coordinate multiple channels of influence, regulatory developments and stakeholder groups both internally and externally
  • Accountable for ensuring consistent external advocacy and communication messaging across internal channels to maintain credibility

They will lead a team of 5-10 Engineers that will look to the latest technology to implement systems using MS Windows IoT, ZigBee for remote IO, OpenADR and web technologies using ASP.NET and IIS. The team work with a VB.NET energy management system combining the latest available hardware platforms, custom electronics development and software tools. The key to this role is the ability to successfully transition across these disciplines, delivering results and lead/manage people.

 

They are looking for someone with:

  • A relevant degree in computer science
  • Proven track record in managing staff effectively to deliver business goals
  • Able to work with and improve complex systems and architectures
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as VB.NET and C#

Construction Training Manager

A Construction Training Manager is required for a rapidly growing renewable energy technology business. They are set to revolutionise the large-scale solar industry and have global growth ambitions.

Their unique approach requires their deployment partners to be trained and certified. The Training Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the training program for all on-site partner workers, including a process for assessment and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a training needs analysis for all construction site worker roles.
  • Liaise internally with subject matter experts to source and create training material content, including materials for on-site use such as work instructions and relevant content for pre-start and weekly toolbox meetings, inductions and OH&S and Quality measures.
  • Develop the training program for all on-site workers that includes learning objectives, training materials, delivery methods, delivery plan and evaluation.
  • Develop a certification process that includes valid and reliable test measures with appropriate certification recognition collateral.
  • Ensure the Learning Management System is maintained at all times and users are trained.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Training & Development or Vocational Education, or a construction industry background with training qualifications such as Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
  • Preferably a a current Driver’s Licence, Construction Industry Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card) and a Forklift license.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training content in a construction or logistics related environment.
  • Previous work history within construction or similar background.
  • Knowledge and previous exposure to OH&S and Quality management systems and standards.
  • Previous experience using Adobe Captivate Prime or other LMS.
  • Valid Australian work rights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
