A Product Manager/Technical Sales Manager is required for a global manufacturer embarking on a diversification strategy to enter the renewable energy technology sector.
The Product Manager/Technical Sales Manager will support the sourcing, development and launch of renewable energy products, initially a range of residential and small commercial solar inverters. These are intended to be the first products in a renewable energy product portfolio developed over the long term.
The initial focus will be to support the finalisation of negotiations with the OEMs, and then mobilize the products through marketing and channel development, supported by the marketing and communications function. They will then facilitate the set-up of technical support and servicing, and then develop and execute the product sales and technical marketing strategies.
The role can be based anywhere but will need significant presence in Adelaide in the first 6 months.
They are looking for someone with:
• A business, commerce, engineering or related degree and ideally an MBA.
• Experience in product management and technical sales in the renewables sector specifically covering power conversion products and solar technologies.
• Proven experience in brand and product marketing.
• Demonstrable sales negotiation and contract award successes.
• Business acumen with strong customer focus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Well-developed planning, organising and problem-solving skills.
