National Sales Director – Virtual Power Plant

Australia’s largest Virtual Power Plant operator is looking to hire a National Sales Director to lead the sales team and drive sales growth through the development and implementation of strategic sales initiatives. This role will play a key role in expanding market presence across Australia, cultivating relationships with partners, seeking new opportunities and achieving sales targets in alignment with the company’s objectives.

 Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive business growth and achieve contract targets.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to maximize performance and productivity.
  • Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, commercial property owners, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to inform sales strategies and product offerings.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, including open deals, site visits and conversion to contracts to ensure timely and successful closure of sales deals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the sales team.
  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics and KPIs to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous sales performance improvements.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and generate leads.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in solar sales or related industry, with significant experience in sales and a demonstrable track record in a sales leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and coach a high-performing sales team.
  • Ability to work autonomously to drive results and actively provide feedback on how the company can improve results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with partners, customers and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the solar energy market, industry trends, and regulatory landscape in Australia.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with partners, stakeholders, potential customers, attend meetings, and participate in industry events.
  • Permanent resident or Australian Citizen.
