Due to recent and continued growth, the accounting function is to be brought in-house. Working with the Australian Managing Director and the Regional Controller, the Financial Controller will stand up a best-in-class accounting organization designed for accuracy, speed, and control at scale and be the Australian accounting leader.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage accounting activities and lead statutory financial close activities in collaboration with Global Controllership teams.
- Review and approve journal entries to ensure accurate and timely book closure.
- Partner with local operations teams to support business needs with accurate and timely financial information.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with applicable tax regulations.
- Collaborate with global and local tax teams on transfer pricing, tax provisioning, and tax audits.
- Support SOX compliance, including key control design, documentation, and testing.
- Manage statutory and internal audits under Local GAAP, coordinating with auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Work across manufacturing, service, and trading operations to align finance processes with business needs.
- Lead and support global finance and automation projects from design through implementation.
- Drive continuous process improvement and enhancements to financial systems, controls, and reporting.
Requirements include:
- A degree in commerce, finance, accounting or other relevant subject.
- Preferably CA or CPA.
- Ideally industry experience in renewable energy, and/or manufacturing in global organizations.
- Working experience with both US GAAP and IFRS.
- Demonstrable accounting experience including financial statement analysis, statutory, tax (and preferbly) SOX compliance.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
