A well-established renewable energy consultancy with a strong track record in Australia and across the Pacific is looking to hire a Team Leader for their Engineering Advisory team. The team provide advice to clients on renewable energy project selection, economic cases, market impacts and procurement issues. As well providing team leadership, the role requires:

  • Leading the preparation of proposals/tenders for new and existing clients.
  • Contributing to proposals prepared by others in the company.
  • Lead client negotiations to establish contracts.
  • Planning assignments and briefing team members on the approach to be taken and any major risks requiring proactive management. Applying sound judgement and guiding junior staff in delivery will be critical to the success of this role.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients, sub-contractors, equipment suppliers, and EPC contractors.
  • Keeping abreast of technical, regulatory, and market changes.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering (Electrical or Renewable Energy) and ideally CPEng.
  • Substantial experience in technical consulting roles in the utilities or renewable energy sector.
  • Ideally, experience working for an EPC contractor, equipment OEM, market operator, and/or NSP.
  • Experience working in the Pacific Islands would be highly regarded.
  • Experience conducting on-site commissioning of solar PV and/or BESS would be highly regarded.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication of technical concepts in formal reports and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving demonstrating sound judgement.
  • Experience of financial cost-benefit analysis, energy balance modelling, investment roadmaps, feasibility studies, and technical specifications.
  • Experience of construction supervision/owner’s engineering.
  • Experience performing technical due diligence.
  • Well-developed IT skills, including some of MS Project, HOMER Grid, PVSyst, Helioscope, PowerFactory, Plexos
  • Australian citizen or Permanent Resident.
