Senior Solar Engineer

A Senior Solar Engineer is required to provide technical expertise to support the expanding Australian team of this leading European solar tracker business.
This role will serve as the technical expert on the companies tracking systems working closely with the sales team in designing layouts whilst also coordinating with Field Technicians for onsite support. The role will also work closely with R&D and the Project Management team to deploy and optimize software and data analysis solutions and services to monitor and optimize the performance of existing sites.
Key responsibilities:
- Design 2D and 3D renderings and structural calculations based on project intake and customer provided data.
- Provide primary technical support for the customer after proposal and layout stage through sourcing, training, component delivery, and project commissioning.
- Develop and implement enhancements and revisions, including tracker configuration and site-specific design requirements.
- Edit and optimize customer projects in AutoCAD, PVCase or PVsyst as required.
- Train customers and educate staff on systems applications and installation methods.
- Work cross-functionally to support the development, deployment, and optimization of software solutions and services.
- Coordinate with Field Technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot systems onsite as needed.
- Respond to and process requests for proposals (RFI, RFQ, RFP)
Requirements include:
- Degree in engineering (renewable energy, electrical, mechanical, civil) or computer science / information systems.
- Significant experience in solar system design and layout.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, PVCase, PVsyst or other PV software/model.
- Australian Citizenship or Permeant Resident.
- Ability and willingness to travel to industry events and project sites.
