Senior Process Engineer

A Senior Process Engineer is required to work in a team responsible for the balance of plant process design for a cutting-edge electrolyser technology and associated infrastructure that will integrate renewable energy as the power supply. Once a commercial scale plant is developed, the Senior Process Engineer will support construction management and commissioning.

The company is an Australian start-up backed by a world class research team and significant investors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process design of balance of plant components for plants of various capacity, from R&D units to large multiple MW units. Including development of PFDs, P&IDs, cause and effect diagrams, functional specifications, control narratives and operating procedures.
  • Act as a client engineer interface for the companies engineering design & construction partners.
  • Participate in hands-on build of lab scale pilot equipment, through to commissioning of large multi kW electrolysers.
  • Work with the other engineering disciplines through the design process to ensure all systems integrate efficiently.
  • Ensuring all process safety is managed at all stages of the design lifecycle.

 Requirements include:

  • A Chemical Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
  • Demonstrable direct and relatable experience in process detailed design and/or process operations from petrochemical, oil refining, chemical or industrial gases.
  • Experience of multiple stages of the process lifecycle including concept design, detailed design, commissioning and operations hand-over.
  • Enjoy working in a design environment where research and development is on-going and will have an input into the research and development for detailed process design.
  • Experience in working with Hydrogen, Oxygen or Caustic process equipment is desirable.
  • Process Safety and/or Functional safety experience
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
