Project Manager

A Project Manager is required for a vertically-integrated provider of energy control solutions for industrial and power systems in order to solidify the strategy and execution for the anticipated influx of complex technical projects. Part of the role will also involve some day to day operational responsibilities for the business unit.

Specifically they will:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Lead project planning sessions, create schedule and project timeline.
  • Manage baseline and track updates to the schedule till project closure.
  • Achieve project scope, schedule and budget targets.
  • Allocate resources to projects.
  • Support and direct the team, typically of three Engineers.
  • Provide site supervision and WHS coordination.
  • Manage internal and external subcontractor resources.
  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.
  • Apply risk mitigation plan and monitor until closure.
  • Participate in tender process ie. design, submission and review.
  • Review and sign off on contracts.
  • Lead project quality assurance.
  • Support the motivation, direction setting and general orchestration of activities for the business unit.

Requirements:

  • An Engineering or Project Management degree is preferred.
  • A Project Management qualification such as PMP.
  • Power generation, infrastructure or commercial construction experience as a project manager.
  • Risk management and/or change management experience.
  • Operational management experience.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work to challenging deadlines in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated safety and environmental management experience.
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience of contract negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Adaptability and able to tolerate stress.
  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically.
  • Permanent resident or Australian Citizen.
