An exciting contract opportunity exists for a Project Development Manager in one of NSW’s exciting pumped hydro projects.

The Project Development Manager is an integral member of the team supporting the pumped hydro project’s development, particularly during the EIS phase. Reporting to the Directors, this is role is fundamental to the project’s success and will be supported by high quality external consultants and will be responsible for managing and coordinating people and activities on and around the development site.

Understanding the importance of Work, Health & Safety is paramount given the challenging location and terrain of the site.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Project Development Manager and Stakeholder Engagement Manager in the delivery of project objectives encompassing EIS and planning approval for the project’s generation, grid connection and ancillary components.
  • Formulate and implement development activity plans which both de-risk the project and adhere to schedules and budgets which you will help to create and revise.
  • Engage closely with stakeholders including Government and local communities.
  • Manage external consultants to foster strong, positive relationships.
  • Prepare reports and progress updates for external stakeholders, partners, and Directors.
  • Champion a strong work, health and safety ethos internally and with external resources.
  • Assist as necessary with the management of land access rights for the project, including regular communication with project landowners.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in planning, engineering, environmental science or business-based field.
  • Some infrastructure project development experience, preferably with a focus on renewable energy.
  • Project management experience including an ability to formulate, implement, and track progress against, a budget and schedule.
  • A clear understanding of the NSW and Federal planning and approval processes.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and land agreement negotiation or similar commercial arrangements are highly desirable.
