Commercial Development Manager

A Commercial Development Manager is now required by this global manufacturing business that is diversifying and establishing a renewable energy technology division with a focus on local manufacture.

Solar inverter development is underway and the Commercial Development Manager will develop proposals for each of the next target technologies (PV, EV charging and hydrogen).

Responsibilities

  • Develop competitor product and market analysis to assess commercial viability of new renewable energy products.
  • Identify significant project and customer opportunities and develop relationships to assess potential.
  • Negotiate in-principle off-take or volume agreements with project and customer opportunities.
  • Represent the company to Federal and State governments to establish grant funding and incentive opportunities.
  • Represent the company to business councils and industry bodies to enhance and capitalise on networks as well as to identify further grant funding, incentive or other support opportunities.
  • Manage internal resource to develop necessary proposal or grant application documents to create compelling messaging.

Requirements

  • A degree in business, commerce, engineering or similar and ideally an
  • Significant experience in market or commercial development preferably in the energy or manufacturing sectors.
  • Well establish relationships across government, industry, and industry associations.
  • Proven experience in navigating and developing networks in government organisations and business.
  • Business case or feasibility study development experience.
  • An understanding of how compelling proposals or grants are written to achieve award successes.
  • Business acumen with strong relationship management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation
  • Well-developed planning, organising and problem-solving
  • Willingness to undertake frequent travel, including international travel.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residence.
