A Senior Consultant opportunity exists for an energy / carbon consultant looking to join a passionate and agile team of professionals. They are an early-stage firm providing specialist expertise in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and emissions reduction for the industrial and agricultural sector.

The Senior Consultant will oversee the delivery of projects, providing their expertise to clients to help them manage their energy consumption, renewable energy generation, carbon emissions, and carbon market participation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and win new project opportunities to meet billability and sales targets.
  • Lead and deliver end-to-end project opportunities to customers that deliver clear value.
  • Prepare and deliver very high-quality presentations, data analysis, and written reports.
  • Develop a professional network and maintain a high-level of current and up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Maintain appropriate industry qualifications and industry association memberships.
  • Provide thought leadership and champion energy innovation (both internally and at an industry-level).
  • Develop and maintain consulting intellectual property (tools, systems, models, processes, and templates).
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the company’s service offering.
  • Manage customer relationships for targeted key customer accounts.
  • Mentor and support professional development of Junior Consultants.
  • Manage and track billable utilisation (for self and junior consultants).
  • Manage and track customer satisfaction with project delivery (for self and junior consultants).

Requirements

  • An Engineering degree or other relevant qualifications.
  • Demonstrable consulting experience in the energy and/or carbon space
  • Expert-level experience and/or formal accreditation in some of the following areas:
    • Energy Management (ISO 50001),
    • Energy Audits (ISO 50002),
    • Performance Measurement and Verification (IPMVP),
    • Building and HVAC System Tuning and Optimisation,
    • NABERS and CBD Assessments,
    • Greenstar Certification,
    • GRESB Reporting,
    • Lighting Audits,
    • Solar and Battery Feasibility Studies,
    • HVAC System Condition Audits,
    • Metering Network Design,
    • Network Tariff Optimisation, and
    • Electricity Procurement.
  • Excellent consulting skills including the ability to identify, win and deliver work as well as the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • A professional communicator both written and verbal, able to prepare very high-quality presentations and written reports as well as confidently delivery formal presentations.
  • Well-developed project and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Strong personal brand as an energy expert within the industry in Australia.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is preferred.
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence
