Project Development Manager

A Project Development Manager is required for a highly regarded global renewable energy project development company.

The Project Development Manager will be responsible for leading the full Scope of development activities on key wind energy projects in NSW, from pre-feasibility through to full feasibility and development approvals. The role requires expertise in project management during the development phase of a project.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead external consultants and in-house personnel to deliver project milestones across key development workstreams (land securement, regulatory approvals, community engagement, resource assessment and engineering).
  • Develop project schedules and budgets, and report performance against schedule and budget.
  • Maintain all key project registers (risk register, stakeholder register, etc) and proactively anticipate and resolve issues and risks as they arise.
  • Establish ongoing relationships with key stakeholders including landholders, the community, local and state government consistent with the company community values.
  • Support the Director, NSW Developments with portfolio management.
  • Support land securement, development approval, community engagement and other project tasks as the need arises.
  • Lead regional team of project developers / engineers and support career development of the regional team (Depending on level of the candidate).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor level degree, preference for engineering or related science fields.
  • 5-10 years project management and development experience, experience in energy or infrastructure projects is desirable.
  • Consistent track record of driving projects to deliver outcomes in accordance with project budget and schedule.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High level of technical, commercial, and legal competence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically to resolve problems and deliver projects.
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes in a collaborative style.
  • High ethical standards consistent with the safety, personnel, and community values.
  • Regular travel to site(s).
  • Requirement to be flexible with working hours to accommodate availability of landowners, community and others involved in the project.
  • Australian driving license.
  • Right to live and work in Australia.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
