Procurement & Purchasing Manager

A Procurement & Purchasing Manager is required for a vertically-integrated provider of energy control solutions for industrial and power systems to manage procurement activities and the administration of purchasing and logistics.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify new and alternate suppliers as required and manage relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Review contracts prior to signing, as required, particularly for insurance requirements that may be in breach of the company’s insurance policy conditions.
  • Prepare for system audits where required to achieve or maintain approved supplier status with key customers.
  • Conduct annual insurance renewals, be key liaison with the insurance broker and handle any insurance claims which arise.
  • Provide Certificate of Currencies for all interested Parties when required.
  • Review general service provision contracts, such as office services and equipment rental, when up for renewal.
  • Review and authorize purchase requests generated by Project Managers.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels and storeroom space and use.
  • Ensure all workforce, contractor and supplier management systems and documentation are complete and up to date.
  • As part of a project team, source a new ERP system, an improved Quality Management system.
  • Work towards the standardisation of processes for procurement and authorisation levels.
  • Carry out tariff classification/custom import duties.
  • Manage the property lease and any dealings with owner.
  • Manage AFS Annual Fire Statement and (council) environmental audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics or other relevant area.
  • Proven experience managing procurement and purchasing operations.
  • Experience using ERP and workforce, contractor and/or supplier management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • A credible negotiator.
  • Ability to multi-task with good time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on approach.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
